Presenting your work at SWC 2025
Poster presentations
Posters are an excellent way of showcasing your important work to a highly interested international audience in a very clear and visual format. At SWC, we strive to place posters in a central and prominent location during the entire duration of the Congress, for all participants to view, admire and be intrigued by. This makes SWC posters a key component of the congress, and an excellent networking tool also.
Poster Layout
- Your poster should be upright/portrait style and in DIN A0 format: width: max. 33.1 inches (841 mm), height: max. 46.8 inches (1189 mm).
- We do not provide a poster template - feel free to design your poster as you wish.
- Please include the SWC 2025 and ISES logo on your poster. Download the logos in print quality here: SWC 2025 Logo and ISES logo.
- Please make sure that letters are sufficiently large to be read from a distance of 1-3 m.
The poster’s purpose is to visually communicate your latest research in a quick, efficient, and effective manner. Here are some tips on creating an effective scientific poster.

Poster Printing
It is the responsibility of the authors to print their posters before the congress. It is not possible to print posters at the conference site directly.
Poster Mounting:
Instructions for hanging the posters will be provided to all poster authors closer to the event.
Poster Presentation
To present your poster, there will be three dedicated poster sessions throughout the congress programme, each of them lasting 1 hour. Posters will be on constant display the entire time of the congress outside these sessions too.
The three sessions will be divided up along the conference themes and poster authors will be notified on which conference day their poster sessions will take place. During the poster sessions, all authors are asked to stand at their poster to engage with attendees as they visit the posters. This is an "open" concept, where attendees can walk from poster to poster and discuss with authors in an informal way.
There will be no separate full oral presentation on the poster, this is reserved to authors who got accepted as an oral presentation.
Oral presentations
Oral presentations are a key element of the Solar World Congress scientific program. Oral presentations are grouped into technical sessions according to their theme. In general technical sessions last between 60 to 90 minutes. During this time, authors have 10 minutes each to present their work to the audience, allowing for a short Q&A afterwards. Each technical session is hosted by one to two Session Chairs who will introduce the session and its individual speakers and who will moderate the Q/A between the audience and the presenting authors.
Timing instructions:
- Each author has 10 minutes to present their work, followed by a 3 minute Q&A session. If presenters run over this time limit, they might be cut short and there may be no time for Q&A.
Formatting instructions:
- Presentations in .ppt format, pptx. format and .pdf format will be accepted. If you have created your presentation in Apple .ppt, please test it on a Windows PC to ensure that it displays correctly.
- We do not provide a presentation template - feel free to design your slides as you wish. Please include the SWC 2025 and ISES logo on your first slide. Download the logos in print quality here: SWC 2025 Logo and ISES logo.
- Avoid any external links in your presentation.
- Non-standard fonts should be embedded.
- All pictures and graphs must be embedded without links.
- Experience shows that video films often cause problems. If you plan to use video films, please check them when handing in your presentation.
Presenting authors will be provided with all necessary information on how to prepare their presentations, the technical requirements and where to submit their presentations on site several weeks in advance of the congress.
Oral sessions are a great way to present your work to the solar energy community and to benefit from direct feedback and questions.
