Technical Tours

On Friday, 7 November we will offer three Technical Tours

1. Green Hydrogen Pilot Project – Energia Pecém

2. Center of Excellence for Energy Transition – Prof. Jurandir Picanço

3. Serra do Mato Wind & Solar Complex

1. Green Hydrogen Pilot Project – Energia Pecém

Participants will visit the Pecém Green H₂ R&D Pilot Project, which currently operates a 1.25 MW PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) electrolyzer producing 250 Nm³/h of hydrogen gas with 99.9999% purity. The system is powered by a 3 MWp photovoltaic plant, ensuring renewable electricity supply to the electrolyzer.
The pilot plant and PV facility are located within the premises of the Energia Pecém Thermoelectric Plant in the Pecém Industrial and Port Complex (CIPP), São Gonçalo do Amarante/CE. The thermoelectric plant has a total capacity of 720 MW, making the site a remarkable example of integration between conventional and renewable energy infrastructures.

2. Center of Excellence for Energy Transition – Prof. Jurandir Picanço

The Barra do Ceará Unit of SENAI Ceará is a specialized training center focused on energy technologies, with a strong emphasis on renewable energy.

During the visit, participants will explore the Professor Jurandir Picanço Center of Excellence for Energy Transition, which houses advanced laboratories dedicated to hydrogen technologies, wind turbine blade repair, and GWO (Global Wind Organization) Basic Safety Training (BST) and Basic Technical Training (BTT).

In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to see the hydrogen generator, the photovoltaic power plant, hands-on solar energy laboratories, and the Advanced Training Center (CTA) developed in partnership with ENEL, the local energy utility.

This unique visit will provide insights into Ceará’s commitment to innovation, workforce training, and the deployment of cutting-edge renewable energy solutions.

3. Serra do Mato Wind & Solar Complex

This visit will take participants to the Serra do Mato hybrid complex, part of the Serrote expansion project in Trairi, Ceará. The facility includes 29 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 121.8 MW and a solar PV plant with an installed capacity of 101 MW.
As Brazil’s first large-scale hybrid clean energy park, Serra do Mato represents an important milestone for the integration of wind and solar resources, enhancing grid stability and efficiency in renewable energy generation.
